US Immigration Medical Examinations
The United States requires a comprehensive medical examination and completion of Form I-693 for people applying for changes in immigration status. This examination is performed by a designated US Civil Surgeon. Medex Pros has multiple US Civil Surgeons on staff who specialize in conducting United States immigration physicals.

What to expect during an immigration examination:
- The provider will conduct a thorough medical history.
- The provider will conduct a comprehensive physical examination.
- Laboratory studies (and an X-ray if necessary) will be ordered.
- A few days later, the patient will return. The results of diagnostic testing will be reviewed. Form I-693 will then be finalized and sealed for delivery to patient.
How to prepare for the US immigration medical examination?
- Bring a form of government identification like a driver’s license or passport.
- Bring previous medical records and vaccination history.
- If you are not fluent in English, you are required to bring an interpreter. An interpreter MUST sign the I-693 Form if the patient is not fluent in English. However, our office can provide a Spanish/Portuguese interpreter for no additional charge with advanced notice.

How long does this process take?
- We offer appointments within 48 hrs. Same day appointments may be available.
- Forms can typically be completed and returned to patients within 5 days or less.
